Charlie Wiles holds a degree in Political Science from Indiana University. He spent several years working for the Indiana State Legislature from 1981-86, started a general contracting business renovating older homes, and served as a combat medic in the US Army Reserves from 1991-1999. From 1997-2003 he served at executive director of Peace Learning Center, a not-for-profit organization focused on teaching youth conflict management and diversity appreciation. Charlie volunteers with several community organizations including Veterans for Peace, Bridging the Gap (promoting dialogue among the Abrahamic faiths), Habitat for Humanity’s “House of Abraham”, and is currently the director of International Interfaith Initiative. He lives with his wife, Sachiko, and three daughters, Lena, Aya & Mia, on the north side of Indianapolis.
International Interfaith Initiative (III) is designed to foster interfaith cooperation and strengthen civil society. To do this we engage in community service projects; convene conferences; organize events; conduct original research; educate; inform policymakers; and celebrate our diverse cultural heritage through works of art, musical performances, banquets and inter-religious dialogues.
